Classes Offered

Private  Swim Lessons

This type of lesson is necessary for infants and students who are not water safe and require more attention. It is also recommended for older students with extreme anxiety or behavior that is not conducive to group lessons. Stroke Development

Parent-Tot Program

The Parent-Tot program is for children under 2 years old. This class helps to establish comfort in the water and is a great bonding time for parents and their children. In this class, the instructor will teach the parents how to correctly hold their child in the water, the correct way to take them underwater, and the importance of the back float. Our technique is taught using songs and games that introduce what the child will be learning later in private lessons. Learn more

PT Trial Class

This class is for all new families coming into the Parent-Tot program. The instructor will focus on explaining the structure that we use to teach infants and why we do each song/drill/game. How do I Enroll?

We begin our class registration process for all new swimmers with a FREE TRIAL CLASS. The purpose of the trial lesson is to introduce the family to the academy and assess the swimmer's comfort level in the water. A swim instructor will identify the appropriate level for the swimmer as well as if they should take private or group swim classes.

Even if your child has never been in a pool and is a beginner, the trial swim class is a great introduction to our school and a chance for your child to feel out their new environment. After the free trial, our team will help you find an ongoing schedule that best fits your needs.

Swimming Classes in West Hills: Quality Lessons Close to Home

Learning to swim provides children with important water safety skills while building confidence and physical fitness. For families in West Hills, having access to structured swimming classes in West Hills means less travel time and more opportunities for consistent practice. Local swim programs allow parents to maintain regular lesson schedules without the stress of long commutes across Los Angeles.

Why Choose Swim Lessons in West Hills

Selecting a local swim school offers practical advantages for busy families. When swim lessons are located nearby, parents can easily coordinate schedules around school, work, and other activities. Children also benefit from the familiarity of staying within their neighborhood, which often helps them feel more comfortable during their first few lessons.

Our West Hills location provides convenient access for families throughout the western San Fernando Valley. The central location means shorter drive times and easier scheduling flexibility. Parents can drop off older children and run nearby errands, or stay to watch younger swimmers during their lessons.

Local swim instructors near me understand the specific needs of community families. We work with parents to create realistic expectations and provide consistent communication about their child's progress. This neighborhood approach helps build trust and long-term relationships with families.

What Our Swim Classes Include

We offer structured programs designed for different ages and skill levels. Our curriculum focuses on water safety fundamentals while gradually building swimming technique.

Toddler swim lessons cater to children ages 6 months to 3 years, with parent participation required. These classes focus on water comfort, basic floating, and following simple instructions. Parents learn how to safely support their children in the water while building positive associations with swimming.

Beginner classes serve children ages 3-6 who are new to swimming. Students practice entering and exiting the pool safely, basic floating positions, and beginning arm and leg movements. Small class sizes allow instructors to provide individual attention while maintaining group dynamics.

Intermediate programs help children ages 5-10 develop proper stroke technique. Students learn freestyle, backstroke, and basic diving skills. These classes emphasize breathing techniques and building endurance for longer swimming distances.

Advanced lessons focus on stroke refinement and swimming efficiency for children comfortable in deep water. Students work on butterfly, breaststroke, and competitive swimming techniques.

Private swim lessons are available for children who benefit from one-on-one instruction. These sessions can address specific challenges, accelerate learning, or accommodate special needs. Private lessons can be scheduled around family availability.

What Parents Can Expect

Our swim classes maintain small group sizes to ensure adequate supervision and personalized instruction. Most group classes include 4-6 students with one certified instructor. This ratio allows teachers to monitor each child's safety while providing individual feedback.

For toddler swim lessons, one parent or caregiver must participate in the water. We provide guidance on how to support your child effectively while following the instructor's directions. Parent-child classes typically last 30 minutes to match young attention spans.

Independent classes for older children run 30-45 minutes depending on age and skill level. Parents can observe from the pool deck or nearby seating areas. We encourage questions and provide regular updates on your child's development.

Water temperature is maintained at comfortable levels year-round. Pool facilities include changing areas and basic amenities for families. We recommend bringing towels, appropriate swimwear, and any personal items your child might need.

Serving the West Hills Community

Our swim school serves families throughout West Hills and surrounding areas. We welcome students from neighborhoods along Shoup Avenue, Vanowen Street, and nearby residential areas. Families from adjacent communities including Canoga Park, Woodland Hills, and Chatsworth also find our location convenient for regular swim lessons.

The central West Hills location provides easy access from major streets and offers adequate parking for families attending lessons. Our facility is designed with parents and children in mind, creating a welcoming environment for swim lessons for kids of all ages.
